Wholesale ordering portals that fit your trade business.

A trade order can look complete to the customer while still needing staff to check quantities, apply account terms and prepare warehouse instructions. We build B2B ecommerce and connected tools around those decisions.

  • A repeat customer emails a list; staff turn it into an order.
  • Quantities and delivery rules need checking before it can move.
  • Sales and the warehouse are working from different stock figures.

The decisions before development

What has to happen before the warehouse can act?

Somebody in the team often knows the exception: which customer needs different terms, which stock figure to trust or what the warehouse must be told. That knowledge keeps orders moving, but can leave a few people carrying every check and interruption. We work with those people to understand what they need to trust an order without checking it all again.

How we work with your team

What makes an order valid?

We establish account approval, product eligibility, pack sizes, minimum quantities and delivery rules. Where customers have different prices or payment terms, those rules need a clear owner and a reliable source.

Which stock figure should customers see?

We identify where stock is maintained and how retail, wholesale and warehouse updates affect it. Update timing, reservations and overselling need explicit decisions, especially when several channels share stock.

When is the order ready to fulfil?

We map the steps between an order being submitted and the warehouse receiving it. That includes payment or account checks, amendments, missing items and the information staff need when something falls outside the normal process.

Before you start

Questions worth resolving early.

Can we keep our existing Shopify store?

Yes, where it can support the agreed approach. Our stationery project connected a separate wholesale portal and back office to the existing Shopify store. We assess your current setup, plan, apps and data before recommending whether to extend the store or build a connected portal.

Would an existing B2B app be enough?

It may be. We compare available features with your account rules, ordering process and system connections. If a supported app meets the requirements, it can be the right choice. Custom development is justified when an important requirement or operational constraint remains unresolved.

Can customers have different prices and order rules?

These can be part of the scope. We establish how prices are maintained, who qualifies for which terms and how pack sizes, minimum orders, shipping and approvals interact. We then confirm what the chosen platform can handle and what needs additional development.

Does the whole operation need to change at once?

No. We can phase the work around a useful first release, such as trade ordering for a defined group of customers. Product and account imports, stock checks, staff training and handover are planned around that release, with later improvements scoped separately.

Technical scoping for wholesalers and distributors

Define the right technical scope for your trade operation.

Bring us the ordering, stock or fulfilment problem you need to resolve. We translate the business rules and system constraints into a clear plan, so you can decide what to change and what the work involves.

You receive a written scope covering:

  • A recommended route: existing ecommerce features, a connected portal or custom tools.
  • The account rules, stock ownership and order flow the solution needs to support.
  • Integration dependencies, exception handling and checks for a reliable handover.
  • A prioritised delivery scope with estimates and a practical first release.
